A hosting program is a strategy used to identify possible permanent families for older children who are available for inter-country adoption and are patiently waiting in institutions for their adoptive placement. These children will be able to experience family life in New Jersey with you and your family! They will have the opportunity to be exposed to a more stimulating environment than in the institutions where they currently live. It is our hope that by hosting these children, the fear of adopting an older child will be dispelled by you and those in your community, and will lead families to a commitment of permanently adopting a child, perhaps the hosted child, into their families.
Madison Adoption Associates takes pride in keeping our hosting programs tight-knit and connected to the local community, which explains why we only offer the program in limited states. We purposefully place our children geographically close to one another so that the families have the support of each other, and so that the children do not feel isolated from their friends. Not only will you have the support of MAA staff, but you will also have the comfort of other current host families nearby. We have group events during the hosting session to promote the importance of community.
